Players and the Dungeon Master
Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) is by default a group game so at the very least it will require 2 people in order to play. There are two roles that are used when playing and they are the Dungeon Master and the Players. Generally speaking there will be a single individual who acts as the Dungeon Master, often shortened to DM, who acts as the game's storyteller, organizer, referee, and director of the game. The players are the group of people who play in the world that the Dungeon Master creates and dictates and overcome the challanges presented to them and progress as a group through the story.
