Dungeons and Dragons is a very complex game with an almost infinite amount of interactions and scenarios that could come up, but we will go over some of the core rules that will help you build an understanding on how to play as both a Dungeon Master and as a Player. First and formost for players you will want to create a character and have an understanding of how your combination of race, class, background, and character's personality will work within the game. Next, we will go into some of the core mechanics of the game such as the different types of die rolls you will make in response to certain scenarios and tasks and their successes and failures. As a player, there are three broad catagories of interaction within a typical game session, those being; Combat, Interaction, and Exploration. Lastly, we will delve into the magic of the game, in a quite literal sense as Dungeons and Dragons has a rich magic system that is intertwined with many campaign worlds, the people inhabiting it, and the characters that are played.
